Hi,
When I add a background that has white as its background it always appears greyish when viewd in map maker or on the website.
Is this expected? I am using a GIF for the background image.
regards
Miron
Are you using Remote Desktop? Or are you logged in directly?
Remote Desktop. I do remember reading a forum post about isses with RD. Didnt think it would apply for a basic white background.
I'd have to drag Dev into it to explain the details, but Remote Desktop does lead to some issues with Map Maker. In the next release, we expect to make Map Maker installable on the desktop, with a remote connection to the database, thereby eliminating the need for RDP sessions.
Denny,
that would be great and at the same time it would potentially allow you to audit changes to maps, as currently you have to give a large amount of access to the server the server directly. I suppose that in time you would be able to give users permissions to varios maps so you can have team members responsible for specific areas and maps.

What, no web based map editor? 8-) I bet your programmers would have a fit trying to get that done!! 8-)
One comment on Remote Desktop and background colors and such. Make sure you have someone go into the console (or via ILO) and bump up the resolution and colors to the maximum on the base server itself. That's where I ran into problems on one of my boxes...
Is there a reason the resolution/color depth of a map is tied to the system resolution of the server itself?
