Does anyone know how to activate sflow on nortel routers?
Thanks
I believe Nortel only supports IPFIX
When will SW support IPFIX?
I'm glad that you've asked. We've already begun development on IPFIX for the next version of NTA. If you wouldn't mind, could you attach to this thread or contact our support to get us a 15 minute or so PCAP sniffer trace of your IPFIX traffic (using WireShark or some other tool)? It would help ensure that support your device.
Thanks,
David
Hi Freinds,
One of my customer has Nortel 8300 passport and he wants to monitor through Solarwinds NPM
Can someone tell me ,does nortel 8300 passport supports Orion NPM 9.1 with Sp4?
As I have gone through your reply Mcbridea ,so it looks that nortel works on IPFIX ,so how can we monitor nortel 8300 passport ?
Also provide solution for same.
We use SW NPM 9.1 SP5 to monitor our 50+ Nortel 8300's. It works well.
Nortel supports IPFIX, but there are a few conditions/limitations:
ERS 8300: Must be version 4.2 firmware on the 8300. Requires 256 MB RAM on the 8393SF or 8394SF. 4.2 firmware has not been released to the public yet (as of 4/30/2009).
ERS 8600: Must be running 4.1.8.2 firmware or higher. 8692SF preferred, which means no "classic" (pre-E) Ethernet blades can be in use on the chassis.
ERS 55xx: IPFIX is supported on current firmware versions.
