WS 5100 motorola login problem

Hello,

We use cirrus to backup our cisco routers and ASA all work fine.

I need to save configs of our motorola WS 5100 but i have 2 problems :

1) i need to type cli before i can enter login/password, so i'd need to know how to add something in login infos before the username

2) if 1 can work a day i'd need to type a different command than to backup cisco config (very similar but some different syntax). Is it possible? if yes how?

1. The ability to specify an "EnterCLI" command has been added to v5 which is coming out on 9/29. If you are a Cirrus customer with active maintenance, you will get a free upgrade to v5.

2. You'll need to copy an existing device template and created one specific to your WS 5100 to change the commands used for download and upload. See this technical reference for details:

I upgraded to last NCM. But i think you misunderstand my problem. I need to type a command "before" enter login/password information.

The other commands are same as cisco commands so no problem to download configs.

So, how can i modify "login information" section to add a command before username inputbox. Even if it's general for all devices (it's not mandatory to put someting in it, isn't

Motorola wireless controlers require that you input "cli <enter>" in the telnet prompt before you login.

How can i modify the template to do that ?

Hi,

In the device template you use, you can add the following line:

<Command Name="PreCommand" Value="cli ${CRLF}"/>

was this ever resolved?

We did a demo of the NCM last month and were not able to get it to work with our ws5100's because of needing to enter "cli" before entering hte user & pwd.

We found that the NCM did a nice job with our cisco eqiupment, however, we currently are running cisco works to manage our cisco equipment. If NCM can't manage the 5100's we have no reason to replace the ciscoworks.
