Wrong machine type for Cisco ISR routers

Question

Cirrus 3.5.1 retrieves wrong machine type for all 1700, 2800, 3800 and 7600 Cisco routers in our network. All of them are machine type "Cisco". For routers 7200 and 2600 the machine type is discovered correctly (i.e. "Cisco 7206" or "Cisco 2651 XM", respectively). Thus grouping and reporting with machine type is not as useful as it could be.

Orion 8.1 on the same server with the same devices doesn't demostrate this problem.

Wrong MIB object perhaps?

If Cirrus still hasn't updated the machine type value.  Please open a case at https://forms.netsuite.com/app/site/crm/externalcasepage.nl?compid=638609&formid=12&h=3d0552f20b2e9bd6580b so we can ensure this issue is tracked appropriately.

Another workaround option is to close Cirrus, open the database, remove the machine type values, and open Cirrus.

Thanks Haley, but unfortunately given the amount of switches and the locations it would not be a viable solution to replace the IPs. Is there not another way to do this?

It does not sounds like the rediscovery option has ran.  One recommendation to get Cirrus to perform the rediscovery step on a device sooner is to modify the IP Address for the device, wait till Cirrus updates the window with the new details, and then modify the IP Address back to the correct IP.  This step should only take a few seconds.
