Can anyone with Solarwinds explain to me what the CURRENT VALUE is for and also how to make use of it with Alerts?

Current Value is a value in Basic Alerts, but it doesn't exist in Advanced Alerts.

When you acknowledge the alerts. The Active Alerts does not update itself to state it's clear. Is there no way to clear this down other than going into Alert Manager to delete the Alert itself. Really want to do this from the Web browser if at all possible.
