we are trying to add Avaya gateway device under VNQM "Add Gateway" but it is throwing error as "Not a gateway" but when we discover the node it has showing the exact device type (Avaya G700). please suggest any setting do we need to do?
Hi All,
We got a reply from solarwinds tech support team that Avaya gateway cannot be monitored using VNQM... pls suggest the alternate way to monitor the PRI trunk status linked to Avaya gateway?
I would suggest that you use the Universal Device Poller tool to create a custom poller using the Avaya OID for that data.
Thanks borgan.
we are new to this tool. can you please help us in setting up the UNDP?
Any documents, blogs, threads etc is appreciated.
I see from the following thread (Monitor PRI trunk status) that you have received some good advice on getting this done. The only thing I might add is that you could start by performing a MIB walk using the tool(s) in the Engineers Toolset or some other MIB walking or browsing tool to identify what OIDs you are looking for. Then, use the UnDP tool to create the custom poller mapped to those OIDs. The Orion NPM Admin Guide (http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/Orion/docs/OrionNPMAdministratorGuide.pdf) can step you through the process of configuring the custom pollers. Also, there is a KB article that shows how to configure an Avaya call manager to work with VNQM (SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How to configure an Avaya Call Manager for VoIP and Network Quality Manager).
Hope this all helps, but if you need more concentrated help getting started with SolarWinds, contact Corona Technical Services at 918-398-8052.
