VMWare and Performance Monitor

Question

Trying to get a VMware box talking to the PM. When it tries to establish communications for the SNMP it is coming back saying it is not responding. Is there somewhere else in the VMWare that needs to be configured or do i need to do something else in Soalrwinds?

You also need to make sure that the ports are open on the esx firewall and that the service was restarted after configuration.  Hope this helps

This is done at the command line.  Edit the /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf file and change the rocommunity and make sure the line is not commented out.

How did you configure SNMP on the ESX Box? Command line or ESX manager?
