Interface names in Node details.

i need to know, for all my switches(cisco), I have descriptions on each interfaces, yet when I go to Node Details, and look in the "Current Percent Utilization of each interface" I only see the description for a few of the interfaces....

example:

GigabitEthernet1/1 - Gi1/1

How can I make NPM show the description of all the interfaces?

Has enough time passed to allow for rediscovery reflecting the changes? Based on what "Rediscover Resources" is set to, this will go out and do an automatic rediscovery of all Nodes, Volumes and Interfaces. This setting can be viewed in the Network Performance Monitor Settings and clicking on the Polling tab.

When the changes take effect, you will be able to see the description changes on the website under interface details and Alias. You might also try a manual rediscover on the interfaces that are not showing the descriptions. If that does not help then you might look in the interfaces table to see if the descriptions are present.

The rediscover is set for 120 minutes, and tried the manual rediscover and the name (description) does not get populated.

I see under the interface details, that the description set for the interface shows up under the Network Alias field.
So how do I populate the Webconsole with this Alias name when viewing the node details?

If your issue is that Orion is not picking up the interface descriptions he configured on the devices after adding them to Orion, then that will be fixed in the next release.

We're very much in need of this feature as well - could you give some indication of when a fix can be expected ?
