What do you guys do when you have an additional webserver? Reports only populate on the main box. Or that is what I am seeing.
What do you guys do? Just copy the directory manually or create some scheduled job?
You're right, reports only populate on the main server. I just take the manual approach. Any time I create a new report or update one, I copy the file to the additional web server. It can be a pain since it's an extra step but I like that I can hit the Orion site on the main server and tweak the report before pushing it over to the additional web server. I don't have any users who hit the main server's Orion site so I can get the formatting the way I want it before everyone can see it.
agreed, I am currently doing it manually, but have done the batch/script route in the past. here is sample - you'll have to tweak for your environment....
I completely agree. I use the primary as my test bed & then manually copy them over to the additional web server. DNS points our NOC to the additional web site so I get to make it look right first. It might get a bit messy with multiple extra web servers, but with just one extra it works fine for me.Don't forget to back them up on a regular basis & certainly before any maintenance.
