Database size is a fucntion of SQL, Sql Express is limited to a 4 GB database. SQL Standard and above do not have that limitation.

My Orion database (NPM,APM,Netflow, and VoIP with 3000+ elements) is 17GB

Please note that on Databases, they include "White Space" into the size, compacting the database will give you a more true result.

Hi,

We tried compacting the database. But after the process database, size is showing same size as earlier.

Please find out the attached screen shot regarding the respective database file properties.

Auto Growth is by default 1mb initial size 4096mb.

A) Do we need to change any appliaction setting while migrating to Orion SQL Standard Edition .

After detaching databases from Express Edition is there any issue in attaching the same database to Standard Edition.

C) How much downtime (Size of database is 4gb).

No. At this point you should open a support ticket. Something needs to be truncated within your db- usually the syslog or traps table has grown substantially large preventing the maintenance & compact from working.

Reducing your poller settings as well as creating syslog rules might help. Are you using any other modules?
