Alert Suppression, node name problems.

Afternoon All.

I'm creating an alert to SMS me when a node goes down, then back up again.

But it must have alert suppression for any node name that contains 'RSP'

When I create the simple condition it stops the alert being triggered for any node that does not contain anything like 'RSP' in the node name..

Is this a bug?

Many thanks and I look forward to any ideas?

You can create the "does not contain" logic by configuring your alert similar to the screenshot below.

hi, if you put that condition under alert suppression it will not trigger at all if any node has 'RSP' in its name.

you need to put this in the trigger condition instead, just put does not contain 'RSP' as a condition

If I put that in the Alert Suppression tab NOTHING triggers the alert at all. Regardless of having 'RSP' in the name name or not.

I have done some reading of the above links and it seems the Alert Suppression tab works very differently to what you would expect. So back to the Alert Trigger conditions.

There is no 'does not contain' in the Alert Trigger conditions so I cant use that.

It looks like I have to list all my 'RSP' devices as separate conditions......? (node name not equal to RSP1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc etc..) Unless someone can provide me with a better condition.

Any further ideas on this?
