Do ALL nodes show down, or do some show as up?

I rephrase my question: I do not have nodes down or up in the events type.

And as a workaround to keep you going with your daily tasks, check the node downs from manage nodes view,

Settings -> Under Node & Group Management (Manage Nodes) -> Group by Filter on left hand side (Select [No Grouping] from drop down) -> Search for 'Down' against Show Nodes.

If you want to drill it down on a daily basis you can create a report or a email alert.
