Orion 8.5 Installation Problem

Question

I just opened a ticket on this, but I'm not sure when SW will get back to me.  I installed 8.5 because of a much-needed syslog server fix and now none of the Orion services will start.  I keep getting the following error:

Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for  deletion.

I installed over top of an 8.1 installation and have re-run the Setup and the Configuration Wizard multiple times to no avail.  I see no errors during installation.

We are working on a fix for this one.  We setup a dependency on SQL when the SQL instance is local and there are some issues with that right now.

We were able to get this resolved with Eric by going into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ in the registry and removing all SQL Dependences from the NetPerfMonService, OrionModuleEngine, SolarwindsAlertingEngine, SolarwindsCustomPollingEngine, SolarwindsSyslogService, and SolarwindsTrapService.  After the entries were deleted, the server was restarted and the service are now running.

Nice tool!  I'm doing that now.  I did just notice the following in my System Event Log:

The SolarWinds Alerting Engine service depends on the following nonexistent service: MSSQL$MONITOR

Looks like someone is on the case already, so I'll go ahead and just update the case instead of this post.  When we reach a resolution, I'll post it here in case someone else experiences the same problem.
