Config Wizard Dies

Question

Hi,

Today I moved my SQL Database off the Orion Machine and attempted to run config wizard to repoint to the database, however everytime that I click the next button on the Select Database Tab the config wizards appears to just quit, I have tried other Tabs and they work fine, I have also cleared the registry of SolarWinds and Uninstalled and ReInstalled the software again, please help...!

Do you happen to be running Orion on 64Bit Windows? I've seen this same problem when trying to run Orion on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise SP2 64Bit edition.

Orion 8.0x does not run under 64Bit windows. Orion 8.1 should run under 64Bit windows, but that is currently in beta.

I think that the problem lies with the machine not orion, I will fdisk the drive and start from scratch.

try to stop all polling engines and related Orion services before you start the Configuration Wizard (Start> SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor> Advanced Features> Shutdown NetPerfMon)

also when  you moved the DB what did you name it on the new DB?  I think the config wizard is looking for "Servername\SOLARWINDS" by default.
