Graphing total number of files on a drive on a Windows Server

Question

Hi

I have recently installed Orion 9 SP2 and am busy setting up stats for various team members.

I have had a request to monitor/graph the total number of files on a drive on a windows server, but cannot find a mib for this.

Does anyone know of one?

The same script is in your SolarWinds\Orion folder.  Go to Start > Orion > APM and you can find them.

I dont understand? I have APM installed but when I create a new app monitor, I navigate to windows script monitor but all I see is FileModified and Windows Even Log count - how do I add or find these other scripts?

Another way to inform Orion about the number of files would be to use passive notification with Traps or Syslog messages. You can e.g. create a script that will check the number of files on your drive periodically and then forward the value returned into a syslog message to the Orion Syslog Server. This one can then trigger an Action Alert (such as sending an email, logging a windows event, etc.)

The inconvenient is that you will not be able to graph the historical values in the webconsole, that's where APM becomes useful.
