Help Automating Map Maker Topology

Question

I am attempting to use Map Maker to create topology maps of my network...But as some segments of the network have as many as 500 elements, discovering, then importing, them manually with no link information creates the problem of having to go back manually through CDP etc. to find which routers connect to which and how...which causes me to have to draw by hand or in visio, the map and do the work manually that I was attempting to avoid in the first place by using the network discovery and map maker feature of orion...Can anyone provide me some methodologies or ideas on how to do this more efficiently and more importantly, more automatically? Yes but it is static and will not update any changes-

The full LANsurveyor solution will notify you anytime a new device connects to the network and automatically add new devices to the network map, then you can export the updated map into the Orion Map Maker.

We have LANsurveyor as part of the VISIO 2003 resource kit. Can this be used to create the Orion Maps?
