We have 3 Cisco Nexus 5548UP's that we want to monitor with NPM. I can add the nexus and i can see the fiber interfaces but i do not see the vsans or wwn on the fiber interfaces. Anyone got this to work with the nexus series yet?
I suspect that would require the "SAN" module but do not know. I am in the same boat, so would love to hear feedback. SW?
no it doesn't require that module. i think you will get a lot more monitoring out of it though with it. i should have updated this after i got it fixed. i got this from tech support and it fixed my issue.
"It appears as though the SNMP polling may be timing out for the Nexus devices, can you please browse to:-
C:\program files (x86)\solarwinds\orion\npm and scroll down to the Solarwinds.NPM.BussinessLayer.dll.config and open the file in notepad.
Find the 'add key = "SNMPTimeout" value="3" />, change the 3 to 10 and save the file then restart the Orion Services and monitor the VSAN view for a while."
after i did that it was working in about 10 minutes. i think the db sync for snmp is just too large for it to work right or at least the initial sync is.
thanks for following up!
