Advanced Alert action not working

Question

We are trying to run a batch file by using the trigger action "execute an external program".  When we run the batch file manually everything is good.  However, when we cause the alert to trigger to test it out, nothing happens.  We think this may be due to a "pop up run dialog box" that happens once you double-click the batch file when running it manually.  Obviously, Advanced Alert Manager has no idea what to do with that dialog box when it tries to execute the batch file.  I'm sure there has to be some way around this, I'm just not sure how.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is still not working.  Does it matter that the batch file is not on the server that Orion is running on?  I've got the local security policy on the server in question to allow the Orion service account to run batch files.  I've included the screenshot of the pop up box I've been referring to below.

We were able to find a workaround at the link below - I'm just not sure it is a good idea to change this setting on a server.

No, sorry. The script above only hides the window. A simple BAT file like the one below should work.

@echo off
net stop servicename /y
net start servicename

You'll have to excuse my ignorance, I don't know too much about vbscript yet.  I'm not sure I'm wanting to hide the window.  My problem is that when I double-click on the batch file to execute it, a box pops up and makes me click "Run" before the batch file will execute.  Is that what the script above does?

This is really my first attempt at any advanced alert action other than sending an email or writing to the database.  There may be better ways to go about this, but the admin guide doesn't really give you any good examples on how you should use the advanced alert actions.  All the batch file does is it's trying to stop and then start a service.  Is there a better way to do that?
