Did not receive expected response to get config command with Juniper NetScreen firewall

Hi All,

I'm using the CatTools General.Backup Running Config function for getting the new config changes from my NesCreen firewalls via an SSH read only user, and it was working without problem.

But recently I always get this error Message:

FW1_ISG2000 Did not receive expected response to get config command

FW2_ISG2000 Failed to download device config

Note: FW1 & FW2 are configured in cluster.

I tried to:

- Restart the CatTools service

- Remove the devices and create them again

- Restart the server

But the issue persists !

Config:

- Kiwi CatTools 3.2.19 (General.Backup Running Config)

- OS: Windows Server 2003

- Devices: Firewalls NetScreen ISG 1000 & ISG 2000.

I'll highly appreciate getting your quick feedback for resolving this problem.

I just found where was the problem, the Mail server wasn't properly configured. I configured the correct IP @ and it's working again

Hi TheStrange,

If it was working fine, but now it isn't, the chances are that CatTools is reaching its internal 'timeout' limit for the 'get config' command.

1) Can you confirm first of all that your device paging prompt looks like: --- more ---

2) Can you also confirm that the CatTools device type set for this device is still 'Juniper.NetScreen.Firewall'.
