Cisco CSS :Download timeout

Question

When ever i download the configuration from the cisco css 11500, the following error is prompted

Unable to log into router: Timeout

Although i can validate the snmp community string and the login information and it is succesfull.

any idea how i can solve this issue?

According to the session trace it looks like after the credentials were entered the username: prompt was presented by the device.

Normally this prompt comes up if the credentials were not correct. Can you confirm the credentials being passed are valid. The username seems to be rim and I assume you removed the password, so please confirm that the credentials are correct. If they are incorrect please enter the correct credentials on either the device settings page or the global settings.

If the credentials are correct, I would be interested to find out what a normal telnet session behavior is like, Does it prompt you for credentials twice?

Could you please post the session trace for this device.

To enable the session trace click on File > Settings. Click on Session Tracing (2nd option from bottom). Check the box to enable session tracing.
Once Session Tracing is enabled please run through a download configuration for the Cisco CSS 11500 device. Then post the <ip address>-trace.txt file in the %Program Files%\SolarWinds\Configuration Management\Session-Trace folder.
