Services Stopped

Question

I'm going insane with this!!!
I have NPM V8 installed in a W2k3 server SP2, and after i discovered all of my network the NPM as been running fine for some days.
After the first reboot all the services except NPM service failed to start with a timeout error.
Why did it happened and how can i fix it please.

This was posted by amata and this was what I had to do as well after talking to support :

I have problems with the advanced alerts for a long time, but solarwinds finally give me the solution. I don`t know if it`s going to work for other people but maybe help someone.

For starters please make sure that .Net Framework 2.0 is installed on this machine. If so, please make sure that DNS and WINS are both configured properly on this server. If this is good, please disable NetBIOS over TCP if it is not needed. Then disable the WinHTTP Proxy Service. It will be set for manual start, but just disable it as this is the best route to resolve this issue. If it still will not start after making these changes, please add the following entries to your Hosts file:

127.0.0.1 wpad
127.0.0.1 CRL.THAWTE.COM
The Hosts file is located in System32/drivers/Etc.

My problem was with the advanced alert service engine, the service stops working after a while and never works again, until I made the entry in the host file.
