How does this work?

We are having issues with our wan link, something with the ISP's VLAN configs. This only impacts a certain ip scope though.

I am confused about 2 things.

why this device has been accepting pings since 8am, yet at 9am it still shows as down?

Also, why does it show traffic being rec, and trans?

Off the top of my head, three things to check.

1. Is the IP address you are pinging the same as the IP NPM is using to monitor?

2. Do you get responses when you ping that address from the command line of the Orion poller that is polling this node?

3. Are monitoring status and response time via ICMP or SNMP? You can check this under the List Resources screen for the node.
