Hi:
How many peoples need work in Operation's Center to monitoring 10000 servers?
Is there a formula or place that I could find this information ?
Here is 1 example:
Step 1: (How long it takes to monitor a server, in seconds) * 1.2 (build in a 20% buffer for issues and boredom) = seconds per serverStep 2: X (number of server) * seconds per Server = total monitoring secondsStep 3: total monitoring seconds / 3600 seconds = Total Monitoring hoursStep 4(dedicated associates): Total Monitoring hours / 8 (how many hours they will monitor) = Number of people required to monitor Example: (monitor 10000 once per day within a 24hr window)45 seconds * 1.2 = 54 seconds10000*54= 540000 seconds540000/3600=150 hours150hr/8hr shift = 19 people19people/3-8hr shifts = 6~7 associates per shift
You may need to break your servers into groups (not every server will take X seconds) and apply the math per group and then add the "Number of people required to monitor"Also, If you want to monitor the servers multiple times perday, you need yo increase the server count (8000*1Xday + 1500*2Xday+500*4Xday)=13000 servers to monitor, instead of 10000.
