Need to "ping" before config download

Question

I need to do either a "ping" to all devices in the database before I run my "download config" job.  Something to get the devices to respond so that I don't get errors that cirrus could not connect due to a "time out".  It doesn't have to be a "ping"  I would take just an SNMP validate connectivity before config download runs.

What options do I have here?

have no idea how to write a ping script or any script for that matter.

I only see a Telent Timeout setting, not one for SSh and I adjusted that one from 30 seconds to 1min. Didn't know about that setting.

My "fix" was to run an OS version report 5 mins before my backup. seems to have solved my problems.

You could schedule a job that would run a ping script that pinged all your devices before the download config job ran.  Alternatively, you might try increasing the SSH/Telnet timeout settings.
