how do i link LAST XX SYSLOG MESSAGES resource to Node Details View?

here's what i'm after - i want to be able to go into Node Details View and see the View resource named "Last XX Syslog Messages" showing the last xx Syslog messages from that device.

but i'm not able to link the Device with it's Syslog events for some reason in the Node Detail View. the "Last XX Syslog Messages" view is always empty - no matter the Filter i try to come up with...

Hey I hope this helps but here is how mine is set up and it works fine. I think you are adding the wrong resource. (Last xx Syslog). What you might want to try , if you havent already, is:

Admin - manage views - node deatils. Remove your last xx syslog resource. Click on the +.

Add the following resource : Under Node Details Reports- select "syslog messages related to the selected node".

You should be all set.

I was running into this problem when the source IP address of the syslog message was different from my monitoring node IP address. On a Cisco device syslog messages will be source from the nearest egress interface unless you specifically tell it otherwise.

try using the logging source-interface command and define the interface IP address that you are using as your Node IP address

What Version does this apply to? I tried this in V8.1.
I see syslogs for the node using the regular syslog resource, but when I add this resource to my node details, it is empty - no syslogs are displayed.
