Same here. Just ran the upgrade from 8.1 to 8.5. The System manager opened fine after the 8.5 upgrade and after I applied the hotfixes I get the pop-up error with Netperfmon in the title bar of the error and then the message "cannot connect to ORION".

Just noticed that the NetPerfMon service had started and immediately stopped after the hotfix. Started the service (waited a few minutes for it to completely start) and then was able to open the System Manager. So my only question is why the NetPerfMon service started and immediately stopped after the hotfix.
. It just hangs in the and says "Opening Orion Database" and then pops up another screen stating “This action cannot be completed because the other application is busy.
same issue here and my database is empty

I saw your other post and it looks like these two issues may be related so I'll reiterate what Andrew P told you, which is to open a support ticket at http://www.solarwinds.com/support/ticketClick Submit a Technical Support TicketIn order to receive technical support, you will need to be current on your SolarWinds maintenance. Complete the form. You will not be able to upload your Orion diagnostics, but you will receive an email back that allows you to upload diagnostics.
If you can, would you also mind posting back to one of the threads and let the community know what support finds.
