PIX (and other) interfaces in "unknown state"

I am using Orion 8.0.1 and have decided to try to find out why I have the following issue (has been around since previous versions, but I'm finally tired of seeing it).

I have enabled SNMP on some PIX firewalls at our regional offices and are monitoring them via Orion. All of my PIX devices are listed as up, and Orion reports "One or more interfaces are in an Unknown state." I see this with some other devices as well (such as an HP Laserjet 8000 printer that reports "HP ETHERNET MULTI-ENVIRONMENT,ROM br29n00,JETDIRECT,JD33,EEPROM G.08.49' is in an Unknown state."

Is there something I'm missing? Or is this behavior normal for these devices? I'd like my "Nodes with Problems" table to only list devices that are actually having problems.

Thanks for your help. When I was listing the resources I was getting snmp errors. It looks like at some point in the past (probably during a previous upgrade) the devices were all switched to SNMPv2C. I changed them to SNMPv1 and everything worked fine. Can't believe I didn't try that before. ><

What interfaces show this unknown state? Can you post the SNMP config for your firewalls (you can remove the IPs if you like).

For the PIX devices Orion reports only "One or more interfaces is in an Unknown state."

Here is the SNMP config from one of them:

snmp-server host outside x.x.x.x
snmp-server location Dallas
snmp-server contact Joe Grover
snmp-server community XYZ
no snmp-server enable traps

Ok...that looks normal. By any chance have you upgraded this PIXs recently? I know with newer versions the interface names may change and Orion will report them unknown. I would verify the list resources shows the proper interfaces and check only the ones your interested in.
