Dissable Map Drill Down
FormerMember
I have been asked to provide a map from Orion that will show the overall health of the network that my customers can view. I have completed that much by letting the customers use a URL for the direct link account. The one problem I have is I need to stop these people from being able to click on an item in the map and and drilling down into other nested maps or viewing the devices.
Has anyone accomplished this before?

I think you should be able to do that using Custom properties and Account Limitations.
1. Create a Custom Property using Custom Property Editor or used Prebuilt properties e.g. Customer Name
2. Apply the Custom Property to the Nodes and Interfaces for that customer again using Custom Property Editor.
3. Add an Account Limitation based on that custom property.
4. For the customer's logon account, add the limitation so thay cannot see details for their own devices.
I haven't tried this but I think this will still give an overall health of a map - assuming that map is associated directly with devices and not submaps.
Hope this helps...

vaibhav14 - I feel stupid asking this but I don't see how to do step#3. I don't see Custom Properties on the list of selections when you click on Add Limitation when Editing an account from within Account Manager. What am I doing wrong? Help!!!
