Web referral login links no longer working after upgrade to 8.5

Question

We are passing customers through to their network graphs by including the loginID in the link (and accounts without passwords). This is using a link that Solarwinds tech support helped us craft. This would allow departments to view their stats using a link on another website. Since upgrading to 8.5, it now requires a password (even  though that password is really blank). An example of the link looks like this:

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/.../Login.aspx

Hi Mpierce3, I try by the 7.8.5 upgrade to 9.0, encounter the same problem, is your problem solved?

Interesting. That doesn't sound like the login issues I've seen before. You should probably open a support ticket. If you decide to go that route, you can save a step by running SolarwindsDiagnostics.exe (it's in the installation directory) and attaching the resulting .zip file to the ticket.

Doesn't seem to. I misrepresented the link a bit, the original link (on another website) is:

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/Login.asp

I tried

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/Login.asp

"">xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/Login.asp

The resultant page is a login page in every case:

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/.../Login.aspx
%3fAccountID%3dArtHistory&path=/Login.asp?AccountID=ArtHistory

At this page, manually entering the login with blank password gives the following error:

Orion Website Error

An error has occurred with the Orion website.

Additional Information

You do not have permission to access this view.

However, going to the root address of the server in a browser and entering the userID and blank password works perfectly.
