We developed a little home grown database for tracking all kinds of details for supporting our remote sites. It's a bit unsanctioned and if it dies, I've got no one left to restore it.
We are looking for a more permanent tool for tracking this type of information and was wondering if anyone in the community had either tried tracking it in Solarwinds, or had found a tool that worked well with Solarwinds for this purpose.
Below is of some of the information we need to capture and be able to search for quickly and easily in the event of an outage.
Site Name
Site Address
Local Contacts (up to 3 with both land line and mobile numbers listed)
WAN provider, support phone number, and WAN Circuit ID
Bandwidth information
Local Teclo, account information, and Support number
Local ISP, account information, and support number
Site Headcount
Site Distribution list for emergency communications
I welcome any thoughts and examples of how someone has done this and what tools they used! The goal is to have as close to a one stop shop when a site goes down as possible.
