strip Syslog sequence number from message text

Question

I'm not SQL savvy and am looking for a way to strip the "sequence#:" string from the beginning of the syslog Message text.   The sequence number defeats the ability to use the Select Distinct clause to weed out duplicate messages from an Advanced SQL Report.  Anyone done this or can advise how to do it?

Sorry, for taking so long to get back to everyone.

Thanks netlogix and Larry for all your help steering me in the right direction.  We ended up using the following statement which does the trick stripping off the sequence number and semi-colon.

LTRIM(Right(Syslog.Message,LEN(Syslog.Message)-CHARINDEX(':',Syslog.Message,0))) as Message

Again guys, thanks for your help otherwise I would have been struggling for days.
