Orion DB Backup Alert

Question

Is there anyway of getting Orion to alert when a backup fails as it was working perfectly fine up until the 2nd Septmeber and nothing has changed, this would be useful as we don't tend to check the SQL backups every day?

We use the Orion DB manager to do our backups and not the SQL Enterprise manager.

Jon,

I assume you have this automated and scheduled for a particular time of day. The Database Manager uses the SQL job scheduling function for its backups so if there is a failure it will be logged by MS SQL. You may want to check the event logs on the server to see if the failures have been logged there. If so, you can use the Windows Event Forwarder to take those event messages and send them as Syslog messages to Orion where they can then be alerted upon. One suggestion at least.
