We are needing to upgrade, and are currently on 2018.4 HF3. Is it possible to go straight to most current 2020.2.1? Not having to do incremental upgrades? The upgrade advisor says it can be done, but wanted to check if anyone has done this before.
Yes this can be done. Be sure to check the results of the pre-flight checks for any potential blockers. I would also suggest looking at the requirements and release notes for the intermediate changes which may be relevant to your environment. And of course not forgetting to backup the DB and snapshot the VM before starting any upgrade

Keep in mind that you can always download 2018.4 HF3 from your customer portal to spin up a lab instance, which when installed will be a 30 day eval. You can then upgrade this lab instance to validate the process.
Our recently launched Upgrade Resource Center has lots of great material. https://support.solarwinds.com/upgrade-resource-center
We have did the direct upgrade from 2017.3 to 2020.2.
Thank you for answering my question. A follow up, in our environment we deployed agents. What happens to the Agents that were deployed on version 2018.4HF3 when we upgrade to 2020.2.1?
Can you please share steps you followed to upgrade. Wanted to upgrade from 2018.2HF6 to 2020.2.1 HF2
