APM Application Alert - Statistic Data

Question

I have an alert set up that is currently set to APM: Application under the Trigger Condition tab for Type of property to monitor.  It is working well.  However, I would like to be able to see the statistic data inside of the alert message I receive in email.  The only way I can get that variable to appear is to change the type of property to monitor to APM: Component.  Is it not possible to be alerting on an application monitor and still have the statistic data show up by using a variable?

If you're alerting on the roll-up status of the monitor as opposed to the individual components that's the level of specificity you're stuck with. If you need per-component status you need to create a component alert.
