Feature Request: Substitution in Report Name for automatically grouped reports

Question

Hi,  what I want to be able to do is use the %GroupName% to generate a number of different reports.

I have approx 100 reports, all doing the same thing but for different groups of devices and I am about to duplicate this to produce a different set of reports.  If I could condense the whole thing into one Activity it would be a massive effort-saving.

What I am thinking is that I would like to create an Activity with devices which span a number of groups, by using variable substitution in the report file name so that when it changes groups it starts a new report file.  I could then have one SNMP System Summary, or Port Info report which produce 100 separate reports each.

Or is there another way to achieve the same effect?

Hi David - unfortunately, you are right - that you can't use the %GroupName% filename variable in the activity ‘Report file:’ field. I don't have a workaround for you... though I can see your point. We'll keep this as a feature request.
