Creating an UnManaged Group

Question

Is it possible to create a new group like "Active Alerts" and call it Unmanaged?

I have moved about 40 switches to Unmanaged while the schools are being remodeled and I would like to create a group called Unmanaged and move them out of Active Alerts into this new group.

I am trying to create a group like your unmanaged section and add it to my network summary page.

It looks like you created a report and then added it into your View, can you point me more on creating that?

I utilize this combination of resources on my network summary page.  I break out my down SITES, from INFRASTRUCTURE, and list UNMANAGED devices separately.  I utilize the unmanaged status as a "staging" or "pending" status.  Things I preparing to turn up so I've preconfigured Orion to monitor, etc.  I also use this status for items I'm preparing to discontinue/turn-down, but haven't order circuit disconnections, etc.

"DOWN WAN SITES" has the following filter:
Status != 9 AND DisplayGrouping = 'WAN Sites'

"DOWN NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE" has the following filter:
 Status != 1 AND Status !=9 AND DisplayGrouping  != 'WAN Sites' AND DisplayGrouping != 'Other' AND not Caption Like '%ISDN Backup%' AND DeviceType != 'VPN - Remote Access'

The unmanaged is a custom report added as a resource with a filter of "Status = 9".

You can create a view called Unmanaged Devices.  Just take an existing view and copy it, then change the view name to Unmanaged Devices

Under the

Add Resources to

select Node Lists

then

Node List - Custom Grouping and Filtering

or Down Nodes

Either one will work, just if you want them Grouped by Custom property select the Custom one

Submit

Preview the new view and edit the resource, adding the filter of Unmanaged=1

After that grab the URL for the view and go edit your default Summary View, adding the new view's URL where you want it displayed...

You could also add the new view to the Menu Bar, but my clients already insist that they have too many things up there already... :)
