Report containing Alert Name and Node associated to that Alert

Hello All,

Please could someone help me in creating a (SQL, SWQL, Custom, OOB...) Report containing All Enabled Alerts along with Node/object Name associated to that alert. In simple words there is OOB report showing "All alerts this objects can trigger" but this can give a report on a Specific object, whilst I need something similar for all nodes/objects...

Hi, I have seen this question before and the answer is the same - don't think it's possible.

Why? Alerts are not associated to alerts! Can be alert rules that are created for individual nodes but most of the times they are not. The trigger condition are within some xml-code in the database so it's not easy to create a report that looks this up.

Like @Seashore said this comes up pretty often but unfortunately its not possible with the way Orion alert logic works. I think this request comes up so often because some tools have a flow where you create an alert and then have to assign it to individual entities or apply alert policies that map things in a direct relationship. So because you have to actively associate the alert to the device they are able to do this kind of alert coverage report.

Orion doesn't have anywhere that maps alerts to specific entities. In Orion, and other tools who work similarly, you just create an alert condition and any node that happens to come up when it runs searches the SQL back end can trigger the alert. At a very high level you can simply say all configured alerts are applied to all entities that match their type, except when the conditions of the alert explicitly exclude that node. Even the widget you mentioned should not really be trusted because it is not especially accurate, especially when alert conditions get complex.
