So, I've recently been trying to do some standardization on our switches and noticed that our Arista's were using several different profiles. Most of them are using SHA/AES128, but a few are SHA256/AES256 and maybe some others. Pretty much all of our Cisco switches are using SHA/AES256, which is about the max Cisco switches can do right now but that profile wasn't working with our Arista's even though their set up with the same username/password. I've tried this on a couple Arista switch models running EOS 4.26.3M and the results are pretty consistent from what I'm seeing.
SHA/AES128 works fine.
SHA256/AES256 works fine
SHA/AES256 will not work with Solarwinds.
Absolutely everything else is the same for me except minor variations in the username. ie: user1, user2, user3. Even switching encryption under the same user has the same results.
Anyone else having issues? I've seen issues in general with Arista and snmpv3, but in this case I have it working fine, just not using the auth/priv variation I'd rather use?
