Latitude and Longitude on World Wide Map

I am trying show the status of sites on World Wide Map geographically on Solarwinds and we have around 700 nodes ( approx) and in order to do so, I am trying to have correct latitude and longitude data which I am importing in excel file from my companys site .

This imported excel sheet has one column which matches the one column in Orion database and it should work but I am getting errors.

Any suggestions ?

There are latitude and longitude values already present for nodes but they are incorrect. I have enabled geo-location and the value it shows of the locations are incorrect , i want to have latitude and longitude ( World Wide Map ) assigned and its been throwing erorrs.

There is a custom property that has World Map after it. Those are the ones you need to put the coordinates in.

I'm using 'Classic View' for custom properties but these are the ones you want to populate for the map to work

In the 'Classic View' Column Selector they appear here

Also in the database they are not in the custom properties table, they are in the [Nodes].WorldMapPoint. table

Also I am aware of this custom property of World Map , if I have the Region Info( one column/Custom Property in the existing database to match and with the excel sheet i have from my internal resource with Site Info on Latitude and Longtitude) , can i somehow use it to write a sql query to add that data using Database manager ?

I am not very familiar with SWQL but want to see how can this be done , if I can test initially with just one node ?

If you are trying to import data into the database from a spreadsheet you can directly import it in Custom Properties. Just use IP field as the match and import the long/lat into the appropriate WorldMap long/lat columns.

If you are trying to match a region to a single long/lat and you have a region custom property you could also do that using an alert with logic such as if region= a and custom property region is blank... then the alert action would fill in the Long/Lat with the appropriate data.

You could leave the alert running permanently and as long as region was updated the long/lat would get updated as well.

I am still curious , will try what you have suggested and the group approach , but I am trying to import this property using excel and it should work taking in mind that Region/Site Coulumn exist in Custom Property of SQL database I am still getting errors after uploading the sheet , should i incorporate another table called Region here ?

Your latitude and longitude numbers appear odd, they should look like this format 30.2672, 97.7431

I deleiberately changed them and site code to to garbage values , dont want to paste it on a public forum

To resolve this issue, ensure that the latitude and longitude values are in the correct format in your Excel sheet, and then use Solarwinds' built-in geocoding feature to update the node location, making sure to double-check the data integrity in both the Excel sheet and the Orion database columns for accurate matching.
