Updating Server IP Addresses

Question

Hi Community!  I am looking to move our environment (1x Polling server (NPM+NTA) + 1x DB Server (MSSQL)) to a new IP scheme.  We host our DNS internally so that portion is handled and the hostnames will not be changing, ANAME and PTR records will be updated accordingly.  My question is, will this be as simple as halting Orion services and MSSQL, updating the server NICs, and then restarting the services?

A couple more factors:

The pollling server points to the DB Server by hostname, not IP address.

All SNMP ACLs will be updated on monitored devices

NETFLOW receiver IP Addresses will be updated on monitored devices

Any input from the community, especially admins who have had to do this before is very much appreciated.  Thanks!

if you will be just updating the IP, then that means your DNS will update the IP, correct?

Then just follow the other guide.

That is a nice article @donrobert supplied. You may want to document what the current values are in the SQL DB for the tables they are asking to modify before your change window, just so you know what was there. Also make sure you have a backup of your database and VM's just in case.

Thank you!  I have read through that documentation and that considers moving to a new box that will have New hardware, New DNS, and New IP.  In my case, I will only be changing the IP.  FQDN will be the same and the hardware will be the same.  I'm curious if such a change will have any unforeseen consequences on the server itself. (Licensing, DB Communications, ...etc)
