Alerts not clearing automatically, if i clear them some do come back as they are active but I have alerts that say server rebooted days ago and seems some alerts are stuck and not sure what to do?
On each alert rule you have a trigger condition and a reset condition. The alert gets triggered and shows up under active alerts when the trigger condition applies, and is removed again when the reset condition is true. Check what that condition is in the alert rule and if it is true for the alerts that does not reset.
There is also an option in the reset condition tab to no reset the alerts at all, they have to be cleared automatic. Same is true for some trap/syslog alerts where there in many case are nothing to reset the alert on.
My reset condition on one particular alert for when a server reboots is set to reset after server equals UP. As of this morning I look at active alerts and I show several servers that rebooted over a week ago that are 'up'.
Guess 1) Is your reboot trigger an event? Not sure those will play ball if so.Guess 2) If not an event, and you reset the alerting service, does that sort it?
