IPAM Custom Properties and their perseverance?

A quick question I am hoping Thwack can help me with, if an IPAM Node has custom properties assigned to it, what happens to that data if the IP is no longer in use?

For example, we're wanting to assign Custom Properties in IPAM so that we can add extra details such as customer, support team, NAT details, etc.
If we had a device being rebuilt/replaced, lets say it took a week, in which time the IP shows up as unused in IPAM.
Do the custom properties stay assigned to the unused IP or are they lost?

Atttempting to edit an IPAM Available IP, I get:

So suspecting the data will be lost.
Can any confirm or deny please?

You can replicate it by making the IP as available, save and then putting it in used and check if the Custom Properties values would still be there.

I don't have a SW environment as of this time so I can't confirm, but available IP Addresses should clear data.

Hello Rich,

Thats to be expected if an IP is available SW has IPAM designed to no hold data even custom properties. Whats recommended if you have an IP that is normally going to be static but the device may not always be present to return a ping and keep status as used is to fill out the data and then set the status to used/reserved and then turn off scanning for that particular IP.
