SEM Agent install

I have updated my Server OS from 2008 R2 to server 2019 (version 1809 17763.4377)

*note all other servers on my estate have a working SEM agent reporting*

When installing the SEM agent the install completes successfully, however the 'node' will not check into the portal. The entry is different to all other 'nodes' where by the fresh install is shown as just the host name, where all other nodes shows the fully qualified domain name. Please see screen shot attached.

the SEM install file is:
SEM-2023.2 agent-windowsinstaller.exe
installed locally.

I have attached the log of the install and noticed towards the bottom there are lines saying it cant see the SEM server - in this case 'pwv-swlem.fresca.com' however the file server can ping the server.

Other servers in my estate are connecting and the file server in question is in the same Active Directory OU, for group policy and firewall rules.

Any suggestions or help would be gratefully received.

Short-term solution add host file entry to resolve hostname name to IP address.  Uninstall agent on server and delete node on Sem start again to see if connection could be made looks like a possible DNS issue.

make sure that no addition firewall rules are block the tcp port mention in the install of agent for outgoing rules.
