Discards - Discrepancies

We have several "Bundle" interfaces that show high numbers of discards but their associated individual interfaces are showing 0.

These are Cisco 9000 series devices.

Has anyone seen this?

Where are the stats pulled from Cisco?

And of course, the big question, how to resolve and/or understand this?

Do you have an ACL/Firewall placed on the interface? ACL drops count as 'discards' as far as SNMP sees them.

It could, there are a lot of possible causes. The virtual interface is its own entity separate from the physicals that make it up.

Try clearing the interface counters then observing (and compare the ACL drops). If its not that let us know, or give TAC a ping to see what the cause is.

Would that explain why I'm seeing the discards on the bundle, but not the individual interfaces?

Thank you for your input - I was able to verify that the ACL is the actual cause. The ACL being applied to the bundle shows the discards when you look at it as an interface. This explains why you wouldn't see them on the physical interfaces.
