Password reset for Solarwinds Service account

Hi,

We have a service account in our AD which is related to Solarwinds application (Solarwinds_AD). For security purpose, we are going to reset the password of this account from AD, and it might require to update the same from application end as well. But we are not sure where exactly this account being used in our Orion and what will be the impact after resetting the password from AD. Is it possible to find out the purpose of this particular service account?

Might be used for binding to AD when adding groups.

In Network Performance Monitor there is the account that is used to connect Orion to the SQL Server. That account may be an AD account or a SQL account. You can find that account here https://YOURORIONSERVER/apps/settings/database/details (put your server name in the URL) under User Name. The other place you can find account information is under Settings -> All Settings -> Manage Windows Credentials. If you checkbox and click Edit each credential it will show you the underlying credential name. If you can't find the AD Account you are looking for there then you probably need to start looking at the logs on your domain controller to see where it is being used, if at all.

The mentioned service account is not used for polling any devices. By the name of the account (Solarwinds_AD), it seems to be related to Solarwinds

This account is present in our AD, but we are not sure where it is exactly being used in Solarwinds. Is there any way to find the the purpose of the mentioned account?
