I want to be able to click on a device from an Orion Map without having to go anywhere else on the application. Is this possible? Can we make it possible?
It isn't possible in the tool today directly in Orion Maps. You can submit a feature enhancement for it here: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/product-forums/network-performance-monitor-npm/i/feature-requests
Today, you would need to click on the node name on the map to take you to the Node Details page. From there you'll see the 'SSH' button in the Management widget.
Until this (hopefully) gets implemented...A workaround that I've used in my environment is to add a Text Box to the Orion Map next to the Node.In the options for the Text Box, expand the "Behavior" section and input the following text:
/Orion/SSH/Terminal.aspx?NodeID={NodeID}
/Orion/SSH/Terminal.aspx?NodeID=111
