Can't configure Appinsight for exchange

Just upgraded to Hybrid Cloud Observability Advanced and finishing up my application monitoring.

Having a bit of an issue with Appinsight for exchange. Our preferred polling method is agent and I have entered the Exchange server credentials. I click test credentials and it passes. When I click configure server, I receive the following error:

Remote Configuration Failed
Remote configuration was unsuccessful due to the following: This account must be an Active Directory account with local administrative privileges.

The account is an Active Directory account and also in the local admin group on the exchange server. I went through the manual configuration using the following articles and all is well.

Not sure what I am missing. Any push in the right direction would be appreciated.

Yes. ws-man connects just fine. Here is the sanitized output.

Hi @RussM

While you mention you have followed the manual Exchange changes, in the past I have had issues when these step wither were missed, or something within the AD security/GPO removes the group memberships. Double check the below steps, to eliminate this being the issue! Good luck!

Grant Exchange access

To grant Least Privilege access to the Exchange Organization to an account:

Open Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC) and find the Microsoft Exchange Security Groups organizational unit (OU).
Add the user name of the account to the View-Only Organization Management group.

Set Mailbox Search access

Mailbox Search access is required to determine attachment counts and sizes.

From the Start menu, open the Exchange Management Shell (EMS).
Type: New-ManagementRoleAssignment -Role "Mailbox Search" -User <Username of account being granted access><span> </span>and then press Enter.
To verify the management role has been properly assigned, enter the following command:

Get-ManagementRoleAssignment -RoleAssignee <Username of account>
