Has this Orion latency symptom been experienced and remedied before?

On this otherwise speedy enterprise LAN, interacting with Orion is very slow. It takes 10-30 seconds to log in. Pulling up Orion data takes several seconds.

(Physical resources seem OK, but maybe I am not checking correct data.)

Maybe this is because the polling traffic is hogging the Orion NIC card?

Has this Orion latency symptom been experienced and remedied before?

Check the latency to the sql server. Also check to see db maintenance is running. Maybe have a dba check to see if additional indexes should be created too. (IT shouldn't but your mileage may vary as much as mine has on this last option.) What modules do you have? If you have NPM or HCO, then you can use netpath to dig deeper - have it point to port 1433 on your sql server and let it run. Check SQL performance overall, same for web servers. There is more, but that is enough to get you going.

In addition to what Marc said, the thing you've suggested is possible if you're maxing out the nic, i expect you're not maxing out the nic, you'd probably max out a few other things first

A nice test generically in that space is check the latency stats for your SLW box monitoring itself. if anything significantly positive comes back that's probably being added to everything else
