How do you move from having NPM to HCO license?

When I was working with the sales team, it sounded like I just needed to add the HCO

key and somehow automagically NPM would continue to run. If I go into Settings/License Manager

I don't see an HCO to activate. Do I need to download and install HCO module first?

The documentation I was reviewing was not clear.

Go to the license manager and start an HCO trial (match whatever you bought). Once the trial is active on the license manager page, you can check it and click activate and put in your key (assuming you are online).

My understanding is it comes down to what version you are running.

IIRC, anything from 2022.3 means you are on HCO. The confusion I believe comes from anyone that uses perpetual licensing and thinking that HCO means you have moved to the new subscription model. That MAY come in future years, but for now HCO is just a behind the scenes license change which gives you instant access to evaluate any other module.

I have the HCO license key. How do I activate it in my perpetual model setup so that my NPM especially keeps working? We're ay 2022.4.1.

Just a note on nomenclature.

The Orion Platform evolved into the SolarWinds platform in 2022.3. All products (HCO, NPM, SAM, VMan, etc) run on the SolarWinds platform now. You can keep your current module licenses, perpetual or subscription. Or if you like HCO, you can buy it and just update your key to unlock its functionality.
