any way i can use SolarWinds to monitor if the website on a linux server is down or not?

i take it then this is an additional software that needs to be purchased? No way of doing this with

what I already have (SW 9.4). I only need to monitor website on one box.

Take a look at the WMI Monitor Free Tool. You should be able to configure a monitor to poll your website. It is limited to one device only but that sounds like it will work for your needs.

Ah, I just realized your server was a Linux box. The WMI Monitor Free Tool will not be useful in monitoring your Linux server.
